Outstanding productions of three comic plays: The Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It, and The Provoked Wife, by Sir John Vanbrugh, playwright, architect and spy; private visit to moated 14c manor house, Baddesley Clinton, home of the eccentric Marmion Ferrers and the captivating Rebecca ‘Dulcibella’ Orpen, with three secret priest’s holes; a private visit to Arbury Hall, ‘Strawberry Hill Gothic’ Warwickshire home of 18c poet Sir Roger Newdigate for an anniversary champagne toast to George Eliot born on the estate 200 years ago with readings from her ‘Scenes from a Clerical Life’.

The Arden is Stratford’s most beloved hotel, located directly opposite both theatres making interval breaks for fresh air and drinks convenient; all rooms are beautifully appointed, and the public walls covered in photographs of the great actors and actresses.

All lectures, tuition and pastoral care, three plays, private visits and transportation during the tour, three nights with breakfast, all lunches and dinners with wine, all coffees and teas: £1425 members, £1475 non-members, £150 single room supplement, a £250 deposit (NB : the deposit must be received by 1 January 2018, thank you.)
