An autumnal journey through the rolling hills of the ancient Shenandoah mountains in central and southeast Virginia exploring a prominent southern state; see evidence of practices and traditions brought from England on first voyage as maintained and eventually refined; analysis of extant architecture, furnishings, and world class art collections; visits to the “Historic Triangle”: Jamestown (the first colonial settlement (1607), ‘where the British Empire began’, Yorktown (location of the defining battle of American Revolution), Williamsburg (the capital of the Virginia Colony 1699-1780).
